Special Hardback Signed Editions of ‘Weevil & Nightshade’s Compendium of Farables & Tales’ Now available!

Monday, September 24th, 2012

‘If you are a fan of Edgar Allen Poe, Tim Burton, Aesop’s Fables, and / or Grimm’s Fairy Tales… then you might find yourself enjoying these fine tales.

These farables were written for not only young adults but people of all ages. They are designed to engage the reader is pondering the decisions, actions and consequences of each character. For example, in the farable, “Dream Stalker Robert and his Band of Midnight Walkers”, it could be argued the protagonist actually evolves into more of an antagonist. Robert is wooing a young girl, vexed by her beauty, and relentlessly pursues her – regardless of whether she’s interested in him or not. This invites debate as to whether the reader believes the that the boy is actually courting the girl rather than stalking her, as the pursuit of how relationships blossom have dramatically changed in the past hundred years. The concept and design of each story is meant to invite debate and discussion that can occur through forums and blogs for our readers and thus create debate and further interest in that farable.

The seven farables in this compendium deal with a myriad of subject matters such as stalking, infatuation, inner and outer appearance, abandonment, suicide, betrayal, and anorexia.’

He has painted all his life and as such, his work covers a wide variety of subjects and mediums, with wildlife and portraiture featuring heavily. Recently he has focused on oil painting as it ” has no limitations!” The life-like quality of his animal paintings has won him many admirers in the local area, and he is widely sought after for commissions.

http://www.newadjustment.com/featured-projects/persephone-pt-6-weevil-and-nightshade-update

Here in the above link you can also follow Mark’s progress with the making of ‘Both Bitter And Sweet Was Persephone Inside Most Incomplete’ into a short film, which is one of the amazing and haunting farables included in the book.

Carla Lee, our talented and imaginative illustrator, has been consistently feeding me new drawings, concepts, illustrations, and ideas regarding the characters in the book. I have been showing many of the illustrations that Carla has been creating… but I can’t help myself. While there are many that won’t be seen until the books release… peppering my updates with at least one of her creations is always a joy for me.”

Estimated release date is Mid 2012! Be sure to get your copy then! Can’t wait!

COLLABORATION UPDATE

Monday, January 30th, 2012

New Update on the impending release of anticipated book ”WEEVIL AND NIGHTSHADE’S COMPENDIUM OF FARABLES & TALES” by amazing author Mark Roush at New Adjustment Productions.

Read the full blog post here: http://www.newadjustment.com/featured-projects/persephone-pt-5-weevil-and-nightshade-update

I am having a very fun time illustrating Mark’s book, I find it is allowing me to explore a new found passion for dark imagery! Mark’s tales are incredibly deep, stirring and thought provoking; words cannot express how excited I am for the release of the book!

The figurative release date of ‘Weevil and Nightshade’s Compendium of Farables & Tales’  is MARCH 2012!

“Collaboration with Carla Lee has been a consistent joy of mine. Everyday we are discussing her imaginative designs and illustrations which will compliment the farables in Weevil and Nightshade.

Compliment is not the right word… as I believe the illustrations do more than augment the story beyond mere visualization. They have become integral to the story… for while they hold descriptive elements… they will also give the reader a glimpse into the soul of each character.

Even a rat.”

- Mark Roush
